Mountain Style
Mountain Style homes are a combination of rustic and refined that use any type of construction, from traditional stick framing, to concrete block, to modular wall panels for the structure. Exteriors are accented with rock, wood beams and other natural elements while interiors are finished to preference. Use of stone chimneys, wide porches and other rustic finishings create a style at home in any mountain setting.
Full Log Homes
A log home is a dream for many people. Log homes come in a variety of styles, from round logs to square, and from manufactured to hand hewn. Just about any home plan can work with a log design. Log homes are picturesque and perfectly suited to the natural beauty of Voyageur Country.
Post & Beam
Post & Beam Homes use the same log structure as a full log home, but without log walls. They capture the look and feel of a log home, but allow for traditional painted walls inside with any variety of different finishings on the exterior. They are a highly appealing hybrid of a log and traditional home.
Timber Frame
Timber Frame Homes are a premium design that use square, exposed wood beams to create the structure of the home. Timber Frame houses feature arched beams and ornate designs that are a work of art. While a Timber Frame home is noticeably different from the outside, it is inside where the exquisite beauty of the large wood beams showcases this unique home design.
All homes require walls, whether they are Mountain Style, Timber Frame or Post and Beam. Even Full Log homes have conventional walls inside and often have second floors finished using standard wall structures.

He has designed everything from medical clinics to corporate offices and retail stores to some of the most prestigious homes in BC and Alberta, including at Stump Lake Ranch.
Smith and Co. are the Designers of Record for Voyageur Country. That means if you use one of our builders, included in your building price is a full complement of design services by Smith & Co. to assist you in choosing colors, floors, kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, doors, lighting, exterior finishes, etc.
Smith + Co. can also provide additional consulting services beyond the builder's design package, including a full custom home plan on customer request.
